Get Educated:  Kids are taught early on to say, “thank you,” when they are given something, but older kids should be taught to say, “thank you,” when someone gives them sympathy, love, support, or understanding. “Thank you for texting me ‘good morning.’ It really made my day.” “Thanks for walking to lunch with me today, I enjoyed the company.” “Hey Mom! Thanks for spending the last 30 years worrying about me on an almost regular basis.”

Feel Inspired:  There is something about reclaimed furniture that I love. I once bought an ugly, old desk at a garage sale for 10 bucks. I intended to repaint it and replace the handles to make it something that complimented my own style. I haven't gotten around to it yet, but maybe someday. Get Educated: In Egypt, onions were considered to be an object of worship. The onion symbolized eternity to the Egyptians, so they buried them along with their Pharaohs. They thought the onion possessed eternal life because of its circle-within-a-circle structure. Perhaps you could discuss that when your incredibly sweet boyfriend offers to eat all the onions the restaurant hides in your salad.

Feel Inspired:  When I'm bored at work I like to google “Six Word Memoir” and see what examples I get. Legend has it that Hemingway was once challenged to write a story using only six words. His response? “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” Then an online magazine called Smith challenged it's readers to do the same. You can read the NPR article here. What would you write? Feel Inspired: Dick Hoyt is truly amazing. This video about him and his son will give you goosebumps (the good kind.)

Be Entertained: So this video is soooo sweet. You can't help but smile, or in my case tear up a bit.

Get Educated: When people ask you to do things with them, it's because they think that having you there will make the experience more enjoyable. This is true whether your friends invite you out to the bar for the night; your mom invites you to go grocery shopping with her; or somebody asks you to marry them.

Feel Inspired: These were created by a culinary genius! Mmm dip them in chocolate sauce.

Get Educated: If you aren't sure how fresh your eggs are, here's an easy way to test them.

1. Fill a deep bowl or pan with enough cold tap water to cover an egg.
2. Place the egg in the water.
3. If the egg lies on its side on the bottom, the air cell within is small and it's very fresh.
4. If the egg stands up and bobs on the bottom, the air cell is larger and it isn't quite as fresh.
5. If the egg floats on the surface, it it should be discarded.

Feel Inspired: It seems odd, but I would totally live in this thing!!

Get Educated: When you wake up in the middle of the night for a snack or to use the bathroom, cover one eye with one hand and leave it there until you shut the lights out again. The eye you had covered will still be able to see well in the dark and prevent you from bumping in to things on your way back to bed. This is the reason pirates wore eye patches. After spending time in the sun up on deck they could go below deck, switch the eye patch and still see in the darkness.

Feel Inspired: The worst opinion people can have of you is to be completely neutral. People don’t have to love you, but at least be interesting enough that they hate you.

Be Entertained: This comic made me laugh.

Get Educated: William A. Mitchell was an American food chemist who, while working for General Foods Corporation between 1941 and 1976, was the key inventor behind Pop Rocks, Tang, quick set Jell-O, Cool Whip, and powdered eggs. What a brilliant man.
